Read Again: Reclaiming the gaze is part of the FE2 series, a body of work devoted to reclaiming pain and fostering healing. This NFT examines how Black women’s features have been historically isolated, exaggerated, and misread. Facial elements are deliberately juxtaposed against a deep black digital canvas, inviting viewers to reconsider perception, identity, and gaze.
Rendered as a minimalist, avant-garde, and contemporary GIF, the piece transforms with subtle motion, emphasising each square mosaic block as a unit of perception — abstract on its own, yet forming identity when viewed collectively. This modular construction reflects my interior architecture background, where spatial composition and assembly inform cohesive design.
The black background removes context, directing attention to features long scrutinised and reframing them as symbols of resilience and beauty.

RZA is a multidisciplinary artist and interior architecture graduate whose work explores layered compositions through mosaic techniques, line drawing, and architectural studies. Her practice moves between intricate mosaic surfaces that examine identity, memory, and narrative, and architectural line drawings that investigate structure, mapping, and spatial order.
Rooted in her background in Interior Architecture at the University of Westminster, RZA’s work blends spatial thinking with visual storytelling. Her compositions balance structure and fluidity, reflecting the relationship between built environments and human experience.
Drawing inspiration from architectural landscapes, modular design principles, and the evolving human condition, her work navigates the space between permanence and transformation. Through mosaic art, NFTs, and curated wall pieces, she reinterprets traditional craftsmanship within contemporary technological frameworks.
Her collection Facial Evolution marks an introduction to her practice as both an artist and designer, reflecting a personal journey of growth and transformation. The series explores themes of identity, healing, and self-development—ideas that resonate within both interior spaces and digital environments.
Having sold multiple canvas works, RZA continues to expand her creative language across both physical and digital platforms. Looking ahead, she aims to build a globally recognised design-led art brand that bridges interiors, collectible art, and digital innovation—creating work that transforms both spaces and perspectives.
